For all those women that suffer with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome, did you notice a change in your symptoms after weightloss surgery?

My most bothersome symptom was that I could never lose weight.  I'm down 50+ and that's great.  Other than that, I have yet to get a period since surgery....my last cycle was on Feb 1.  But, I'm feeling great!

My daughter has PCOS - she did not have wls but has lost 60 lbs on her own.  Since about the 50 - 55 lb mark her period has become regular (too regular if you ask her - she misses her 3 -4 month breaks!)  Hair also seems to be less of an issue - but she still has her neck hickie (skin darkening on the base of her neck.)  She went from about 240+ to 170's now.  I would assume that the weight loss generated by VSG would give you similar results.

Good luck!

The first 2 weeks after surgery, I started having normal cycles again, but the last 2 months... NOTHING!  Don't know why that is.  I still have to be very carb sensitive and take my Metformin or I WILL stall out.  Other than that, the fact that i couldn't lose weight for so frickin long due to the PCOS and since surgery have dropped 70 lbs. is pretty unbelievable!!!
