we can not compare ourselves to anyone else.  Our bodies all respond in their own time.  Some lose a lot right away, some it comes later. Just be sure you are tracking everything: fluid intake, protein and carbs.  You will get there.  Keep your eye on the prize and sit down and enjoy the ride.  It will be a wonderful experience but you can't stress at every obstacle.

Today I hit my goal.  Never in my wildest dreams did i think I would get here.  I tried every conceivable diet in the past.  I was convinced I would be the first person to fail but I didn't and neither will you.

Good Luck,

Cheryl

I can imagine it is frustrating, however...if you are eating so few calories...the scale is going to have no choice but to budge. Some of us loose slower than others, and maybe you are just retaining fluids or something?

I didn't weigh myself at all the first month. I waited for my first month appt. I'm glad I did because I lost 13 pounds during my one-week pre-op diet, so I know I didn't have a big loss right after. If I had been weighing all the time, I would have been going crazy.

Now, at just about 4 months out, I weigh myself regularly (every day!) because it doesn't freak me out when the loss slows for a little. At this point I know it works, so I don't stress the little setbacks. I'd advise you to put it away for the first month. You're still at the point where you're not sure this will work (BTW, it will!!!). You will have a very nice surprise at your one month visit.

It def can make you crazy! My whole process has been a series of downs, holds, ups (I know it's water, you can't gain on 800 cals a day!) but it will drive you insane if you let it! Just know the overall trend is down and don't let the holds and gains push you over the edge.

Wow, my main objective right now is to heal.  I am doing everything I possibly can to keep myself hydrated, get my protein in, take my Lovenox shots 2x's per day, get my Nexium in, take my vitamins, walking etc.  These days since being sleeved have only been about surviving with the best outcome. I will feel blessed with a healed stapleline.

We are on day 9 of a lifelong journey.  Keep doing what you are supposed to be doing and the weight will come off.  Lots of stuff going on with our bodies right now.  Our bodies are trying to get balance back.  Our systems are shocked.

Best,
Leila

Thanks Leila,
You are so right! Recovery has not been a walk in the park; however, that first quick loss really helped me through those first difficult days. I'ma gonna be patient....

Hey sass! We have the same Doc..... I had my first "pause" at two weeks and I thought the same things, but I kept doing my thing and watching the scale ( I weigh every morning and evening) and it does move. Since my first kinda freak out it does not bother me to see the scale fluctuate or pause because I know I am doing my plan and the weight will continue to come off. So just take a deep breathe eat your protien first and drink a TON of water. Blessings on your sucess!
