Sleep is eluding me and I have no idea why...anyone else dealing with sleeping problems post-op?? I'm 2 weeks out and have been having a terrible time falling asleep and then once I finally do I wake up every couple of hours...

I know part of it is because I'm a tummy/side sleeper and since surgery have to sleep more on my back but really I NEED MY SLEEP!!

Yup, I went through the same thing... it sucks.

Try sleeping in different locations and see if it helps.  I tried our bed at first with the pillows propped up (laying flat made my stomach bubble and squish), but not being able to turn on my side had me up every few hours.  I switched the couch, still utilizing the angle from the arm rest to prop pillows up and actually did okay.  I still woke up, but not as often.  If I'd had a recliner, I would have tried that too, but the couch did the trick for the majority of the time.

I switched back to the bed during the 3rd week and found I could lay flat again, though the incisions were still uncomfortable and sleeping on my side still wasn't an option.  Oddly though, I tried again at the end of the 3rd week and had no issue at all.

So... in my experience, you'll be fine and back to normal by the end of your 3rd week, but take that with a grain of salt as everyone's different so you could be fine sooner or later than that.

Good luck!

I had the same problem. For me, I had to switch back and forth between bed and a big soft chair.

I am a side sleeper too so since Day 4 I began sleeping on my side with a pillow propped underneath and around the front of my stomach.  The slight pressure seemed to keep everything in its place for a wonderful sleep. I could not do this on my left side only my right.   I am 15 days out now and no longer need a pillow and can sleep on both sides comfortably.
