April Sleevers, let's check in, my 3 month update!!

I am amazed!! The Lord is soooo very good!! I have been unable to exercise at all. Been unable to hardly sleep with the pain in my hip/back and still I am losing. Been trying to eat the right foods and it has paid off big time.

Current weight: 213.8 which is 56.2 pounds down POST-OP!! That is insane!!
Inches Lost since last month: 4.5, Total inches lost: 40!! Crazy!!

I would love to post before and after pics but for some reason I am unable to. It says they are too big no matter how small I shrink them.

I have tried to stick to the all protein diet. Trying for no carbs but of course I do get some in. I was going for 2-3 weeks with a small loss and then having a big one after that but that seems to have ceased with the lack of exercise, not complaining.

Wednesday is my 3 month follow up appt. with Dr. McGill and I am looking forward to it. Was trying to wait this pain thing out until I talked to him. You know when you have something wrong you have to start at some place and who knows where you will end up. Going from one doctor to another. I was hoping Dr. McGill could pinpoint what was wrong and give me some insight of where to go from here. I hope I haven't waited too long to get some relief. I was taking Ibuprofen a couple of times a day and I think it has messed my stomach up. I was sick yesterday, probably why I lost that amount of weight (3.6 pounds) this week.

Trying  new things:
Taco seasoned beef with diced tomatoes and greek yogurt
meatballs
Quiche (good protein!)
Mexican casserole with shredded chicken, cheese, green chilies, greek yogurt, tomatoes
Lots of cheese, cottage cheese
I think I dump with very sweet things so I have to stay away from that, nice reminder to stay on track by the way!

Overall I am happy with the results so far. I have been dragging lately so I'm hoping the doc will do some bloodwork and see if I'm lacking in some department. I know work has been awful lately, especially trying to eat. I have never been so stressed out that I couldn't eat until I took this job. My husband is so supportive but is putting on weight, he wanted to lose weight with me. I don't know what else to do for him. Everyone is noticing the weightloss, even little kids when they hug me, they look up with a question mark in their eyes. It is pretty funny! Even my feet are shrinking. My grown boys think I am shrinking in height too but I was told I would look taller as I lost weight. I don't know how 5'4" could look taller but I was hoping anyway.

The Support Group I started has been great! We had 7-8 people at the last one and I have been trying to find another location besides my home to have it. I know we may have another 1-2 people coming tomorrow. Keeps me accountable!

It's all good! (my new motto!)

Congrats and thanks for sharing!  I'm also 5"4" and I'd settle for being "taller"...great inspiration.

Great job. Hope they get the pain thing figured out and you're more comfortable soon.

You're doing awesome!  I am down another 2 pounds this week for a total of 58 lbs gone!  I am 2 pounds away from my lowest recorded adult weight.... I can't wait to blow past that!  I have been working out everyday, but have found that it does make me hungrier (I question if real hunger or head hunger, still battling that!) and so I have consumed about 1100 calories the last couple of days.... trying to bring that back down.
Haven't measured yet this month... things are fitting much better though!

Three months out this week and down just over 45lbs, it feels great!! Have my three month doc appt next week so will see blood work results then. Lots of running, as I am training for a half marathon on August 21st, I'm as slow as a turtle but can run for a long time with no problem, mind you i have always been a runner even at my heaviest weight. Because of the excercise i eat about 1100 cals a day, mostly protein. 5-6 small meals a day. I started using myfitnesspal to track my food intake and activity, WOW, what a differnce when you realize how many carbs are in everything we eat and it doesn't take long to hit 40g and that is not eating pasta, rice, bread or potatoes. It was a good reality check for me and since i started using it the weight is falling off again, as I had a month long stall. Feeling healty, fit and fabulous!

How do you make sure that you have enough energy and hydration to run long distances?  I end up going through 16 ounces of water in a 2 mile run...

Things are going good for me :)

First the one bad thing... More foods are making me nausious.  In addition to eggs (all except hard boiled), I now get nausiated from chicken and yogurt :(  I don't vomit, but these things make me very queasy.

I have started a couch to 5K program, to help me get back into running. I use the C25K app, and LOVE IT.  I will be on week 2, day 3 tomorrow.  I try to excercise for at least 30 minutes a day.  I prefer running or the elliptical, but if I can't do that, I make sure to at least walk.

I am a person who gets hungry.  I am not supposed to snack, but when I went 6 hours between meals, I was ravenous.  Milk as a snack just does not fill me up.  So, I do have 1-3 solid, high protein snacks a day.  I have told my NUT this.

I am not counting carbs.  My doctor's only guideline was 60 grams of protein a day, 8 glasses of water, 3 glasses of milk and no snacking.  I almost always get at least 60 grams of protein and 8 glasses of water in.  I have at least one glass of milk a day, but then have some other high protein snack 1 or 2 times a day.  I try to get 600-800 calories a day.

I hit a couple of milestones over the past week.  The 10 week out mark.  Going under the weight that I was at a few years ago before having treatment for a binge eating disorder (the treatment ironically led to me gaining 42 lbs).  Losing 50 lbs.

I hit my 3 month mark last Thursday. 47# down, and that is with little exercise. I need to add more in (I KNOW!!!) But with work and a 3-year old, there is little more time in the day. Does running around after him count? I had adde3d taking him swimming every weekend and that is 3 hours of exercise for me!
