FINALLY! APPROVED!

 So, after 5 years.  Two doctors.  Endless tests.  23 classes.  Three insurance rejections.  A 1,500 dollar rip-off from a doctor.  Countless un-returned phone calls.  An Aetna worker telling me "Maybe you should just go on a diet"  I am officially APPROVED for surgery!  I'm getting my sleeve on September 1st!  When the coordinator called me today to tell me I cried openly.  She was worried!  Ha ha ha.  

My doc has me starting a liquid diet on August 11th.  That seems like a long time to go without food.  

Here's the thing....and I know it's different for everyone....but what is the average recovery like?  I'm a teacher, and I'm already going to miss the first week back to school, but I would really like to be back at work for the second week.

So happy for you.. it WILL be worth it. Whenever you have obstacles to what is best.. it will be such a wonderful, amazing and RIGHT THING for you !!

Now as far as school, could it be possible to work p.t. for a bit? Half days? You will not know how you'll feel and you will need to REST a your insides need that rest to heal. Or..take a leave of absence for a bit? Just an idea.. you'll know best.

I am waiting on my date; found out today I was approved too with a 9 month FIGHT with ins.

Congratulations to both of you getting cleared!!

 My doc says that, since it's laproscopic (sp?) that the recovery won't be nearly as bad as the recovery from my c-section that I had last year.  He said two weeks max.  I only have 10 sick days and can't take any kind of leave or work part-time.  It's tough.
