hungry
Probably not a great idea in my opinion.
I was on liquids two days before, so if I were going to have done it, it would have had to have been sooner.
Some people feel hungry after surgery, but a lot of us don't. So that desire to binge "one last time", together with the idea that you will be "missing" food may very well be gone in two days anyway.
It's your life. You decide.

You should follow your surgeon's instructions. If you are on a liquid preop diet, then don't eat food!
Whatever you might eat, you've already eaten it before so you know exactly what it tastes like. It's not worth risking surgery over.

One of the common mistakes I would make would be to eat that certain something one last time. Before starting a diet or if I fall of the wagon before getting back on or 2 days before surgery. The one thing I can consistently say is......It NEVER tastes as good as you hoped it would, then the regret sets in and you wish you didn't.
I agree with lanunes. It's not worth the guilt you'll feel after. The food will be all gone and you'll be stuck feeling bad for days after. On the other hand, think how proud of yourself you'll be if you just do the right thing. Every time I want to "cheat", I try to think about this "How will I feel an hour from now when the food is gone?"
I thought the same thing yesterday as I sat with a hundred people at a pit beef roast listening to a blue grass band and my mouth was watering as I drank my protein drink and everyone else ate pit beef, corn on the cob, beans, coleslaw....omg it was hard.. But the fact is, you've come this far and there's no reason to blow it now. You've learned a lot over the past 7 months about eating and it was time to start a new you. Which means a new eating pattern...so why risk it? Dr You will close you right up if there's any fat around the liver and since you've had a problem with fatty liver in the past...you don't want to take a chance. I doubt one meal would ruin it, but you should be concerned with changing your eating pattern. Even once you begin to eat again, you can't go back to eating like you did...so just stick with it.
Best of luck on your surgery and a speedy recovery.
