smoking and surgery

recovery is slower, and you may have respiratory issues coming out of surgery (or during surgery). Wound healing is not as good....just about every system is effected by smoking.


I will say the surgeon that I went to orientation and ended up not chosing (because he had a bad attitude) said, "I will not do surgery on a smoker because if you are not willing to help yourself with this issue-then I will not help you with weight loss"

Luckily enough, I quit smoking a year ago. I will have a rare cigg, like once every 3-4 months, but havent done that is months.
