Welp, gonna have my first wine since I had the VSG surgery.

First, I expect and deserve the flaming I should receive for drinking empty calories from the delicious wine made next door here in the California Napa Valley.

But also, a toast! A toast to my 3-week stall: enjoy your time in my body, because your ass is getting kicked out very soon.

Enjoy it and take it very slowly. You aren't healed all the way yet so listen to your body. BTW, I'm joining you right now too.

Always the best wishes, Sue

I enjoy a drink every now and again be it red wine or my favorite coconut rum an o.j. I am on doctor's meds so for the next week I am on dry dock but have one for me too.

I had my first 1/2 glass just this week also and I'm 6 weeks out. I have to say that I was lit fairly well on about 5 oz. I never hardly drink much at all but geez, I was surprised!

I'm happy to know that you all are enjoying a glass.   I was told not to have any alcohol for the first year.   Nice to know that you all didn't keel over from it, LOL.   I'm not a drinker anyways, but in case I do, I'm glad to hear that you all did well with it.   Cheers!

For dieting, I was told not until I'm near my goal weight. For healing, I was told I can tolerate wine if I can fully tolerate semisolids.

It's weird though ... I don't think I'm enjoying it as much as before the surgery? Something is different. It's hard to place.

I was a regular drinker prior to surgery, and now a very rare one.. though I had a little wine about a month out.. not bad, a slight buzz.. it was a little though. The next time I tried 2 bourbon & waters.. not a good idea, one was fine, two- went straight from fun to tired to headachy. Almost as if I skipped the fun & went straight for the hangover.. before even retiring for the night..

Tried it one more time with vodka.. same deal. I truly think part of it is low-carbing. I've read something that escapes me now, about low-carb and booze giving more of a negative response.. Ugh, too late and don't feel like searching.. either way, I will indulge rarely.. *clink* to your soon to happen eviction.
