postponed
Well. I ended up not having surgery today. They were ready to start making the incisions, but my heart rate was too low. They tried 3 different meds to bring it up, but no go. Dr. Toder spoke w/ my PCP and they both feel the cause was that the dosage of my beta blocker is now too high and needs to be adjusted. The dosage was raised in Feb., but I've lost close to 30 lbs. since the end of March, and my BP has been better controlled. I see someone at my PCP's practice tomorrow. Also, Dr. suggested a stress test as a precaution, but is leaving that up to the PCP. The plan is for me to keep my follow-up appt w. Dr. T on 8/16, and if all is well, to re-schedule. She told my husband it would be about 6 weeks.
Obviously, I'm disappointed, (and still very loopy from all of the meds lol), but her caution just builds my confidence in her all the more. I'm old enough now to realize that things happen when/if they're supposed too, so I'll be patient and wait. Fall is my favorite season, so it will be nice to be home recuperating then. I also now get to use our pool for the rest of the season! Thanks again for all of the well wishes and prayers you all sent my way last night!

I a happy they were concerned. I was on a beta blocker during my surgery and that was my main concern. I had to have a stress test and a echo because of being on the beta blocker. I did not have any complications at all. I had pain for a week after surgery I think that was due to the hernia repair. Blessing that all go well next time. Keep us posted.
