I havent had my surgery yet, its in a couple weeks. But from what I've been told, its rare to be hungry after getting the sleeve.. The part of your stomach that produces the hormone 'grehlin' i believe it is.. is removed. grehlin is the chemical in your body that makes you feel hungry. If you look to the right side of the screen it says 'about verticle sleeve gastrectomy' and 'advantages and disadvantages' and 'faq's' i believe it says in there more about this.. (:

Thanks Ashley.  I had read that in the FAQ's.   I just wanted to see if it was true

I still get hungry every day. However, it doesn't take much to fill me up. Some people lose the desire to eat, my urges are stll there. But I am still losing weight!

Yes, I still get hungry.....about 3-4 hours after my last meal.  This is compared to pre-surgery when I was literally hungry all the time, all day.  So, I do get hungry, but now it's normal and satisfied by my small meal or snack.

Yeah! I'm with Emelar.  Hungry after 3 or 4 hours, fill up quick, losing weight.  Yay!

I'm one of the fortunate ones who hasn't yet gotten hungry, now 5 months out. I do get head huunger and cravings but even those are much less. As for painful stomach screaming hunger, its long gone....now I just feel 'empty' if I go more than about 8 hours without eating....

I am only four days post op, and have yet to actually feel hungry.  I do however, start feeling weird, I get shaky, and thats usually when I know I need to eat.  Or my stomach might yell at me, lol.  But honestly, the hunger seems gone.  For now at least.

i'm a little over 3 weeks post-op and I get hungry every 3 hrs or so.  It's not like it use to be though.  And a little fills me up really fast.  The head hunger is worse on some days, I think i'm hungry but I'm not really.

I am a little over 3 months post op and I am never hungry...Not even "head hunger" for me. I have to make myself eat and drink protein shakes because the urge is just not there.
Oddly enough, I am a "foodie" and used to cook all the time. I still watch the Food Network a lot but it never makes me hungry...Pretty sadistic huh?
Good luck
