Not sure I can do this...
The first few days are the hardest. Instead of thinking how many total days I had to do it, I took it one day at a time. I would just get up in the morning and say to myself "today is a liquid day". Then I'd get thru that day and the next day do the same thing. Keep your eye on the prize! It really does get easier. I was allowed some soft foods, low fat yogurt, SF pudding, so that helped me get thru. Hang in there, you CAN do it!!!
After my 3rd or 4th day I really didnt crave anything. I totlally agree about the Chicken Unjury. I usually have two 6 ounce servings of that and then 3 small unjury shakes. I am allowed to have jello and chicken broth also. I PROMISE you it gets better. Keep up with your water/calorie free drinks to stay hydrated. I will have my revision surgery this tuesday.
Revision from Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve. August 16, 2011
Oh, Kate.....I feel the same way!
My boss is wonderful and is aware that I am scheduled for surgery on 8/24. He knows I am on the pre-op liquid diet, too.
Of course, I was starving and craving every unhealthy food on earth today....
.... And then he steps into my office to invite me out to lunch! At a favorite restaurant! My pre-op diet had totally slipped his mind.
It wasn't malicious, but it just about killed me. So did a coworker bringing in McDonalds. I don't even LIKE McDonalds and I was trying to determine whether I could body check her with enough force to swipe her fast food and escape without getting beat!
Keep strong. I keep telling myself that following the guidelines to the letter is setting myself up for success. I am a self-pay patient and every time I am tempted to cheat, I remind myself of how much of my hard-earned money and effort is being invested to give me the best possible future!
