preop diet!!!
I was on a 14 day full liquid diet prior to my RNYGB. 4 protein shakes per day and however much sugar free popsicles and jello I wanted. I learned how much I hate Jello!! Honestly, after the first couple days the hunger went away and I didn't even WANT or CRAVE food. I did NOT cheat at all. I wanted to follow my surgeon's orders because 1. He knows what he is doing and 2. I wanted the safest surgery and the best outcome. You can do it! The discipline learned now will on help you get stronger to avoid the foods you shouldn't have post surgery!! I am now 17 days post op and I am so happy with the decision and the outcome! You will be amazed at how quickly your body starts to change!!! Use the pain meds faithfully for the first week, walk as slowly and much as possible and get your liquids!!! you have such a positive vibe about you. i'm glad you're doing so great already. my surgery is in a week (next monday). i know the surgeon knows what he's doing therefor i should follow is orders. i just miss eating. it realy hasnt gotten any easier for me like some people say it does. thank god for my OH friends, or i would be a mess! keep in touch, and let me know how your progress goes! i cant wait to see mine. :-)
i have to admit i cheated like last week sometime. i had 1 corn dog.. my surgery is wed 17th. I also have type 2 diabetes, and my sugar levels are great. im on a 2wk liquid diet n 1 low carb high protein meal a day! i have found that if i change it up, eat what im allowed to have, the hunger is not there. good luck to everyone!
