New Failed Band Group
I know there are a lot of former bandsters on this forum. If you are one of them, or if you know someone how is, please joing the new failed band group. In order to reach more people with failed bands, I have started a new failed band group on Facebook since there are some there that are not on OH. Please join:
FB Failed Bands
Thanks Sheri! I keep running my big mouth about the band b/c I don't want to see others go through what I, and so many others havei gone through!
As far as the revision, I have been researching it. I would like to have it done in Mexico. My band was done in the states by a very good surgeon..............but even that didn't help as far as having any luck with my band. :-( As soon as I can afford it I will revise. I still have no insurance, and the $15,000 I spent on the band might as well have been money flushed down the toilet!
It is getting much harder on me to maintain my weight, let alone lose anymore. I think I was able to keep on the diet for so long b/****pt thinking that the fills would eventually kick in and I would have restriction. But that never happened.
So glad to know that you are one of the lucky ones that chose the VSG! :-)
Hi Maria,
Keep on telling them about the crap band. If it wasn't for WASA I would still have my band. Thank gosh I read and I know that it wasn't anything I did wrong. My band was NEVER tight.
My revision with Dr Aceves was almost 6 months ago and what a difference. Self paid for the band in Florida and the revision to sleeve in Mexico. Yes, I do have health insurance that I pay a TON for and WLS is excluded.
Good Luck and the only mistake I made was when my band was emptied I gained some weight back. Sure wish I would have had my revision then instead of thinking I could do it on my own with an empty band.

I am so glad that your realize that it was NOT your fault. That is one thing that I think is deplorable on the Lap-Band forum, the "blame the victim" mentality that so many of them have! I mean would you blame someone for spraining their ankle or developing epilepsy? Of course not!
So I will keep telling my story on there and posting stats about the band. It doesn't gain me many friends on the band forum.............but if it just gives one person the desire to research the band better, or help a bandster with issues realize that most of the time it's the band at fault and NOT the bandster, then it continues to be well worth the battle!
