instead I have to follow a strict diet for two weeks:

BF:
8oz SKIM or 1% Milk
1/2 protein shake
4oz Fruit

Mid-Morning:
1 protein drink

LUNCH:
6-8oz low fat yogurt
4 oz veggies or fruit

Afternoon:
1oz nuts OR 2tbs PB OR 1/2 cup beans or hummus

Dinner:
4oz Lean Protein
4oz veggies with 1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 cp whole grain starch or 1 slice whole grain bread

Evening:
8oz skim milk
1/2 protein drink
4oz fruit

I will take that over liquids everyday! They changed my date and pushed me back to 9/14, which is okay with me...gives me a little longer to prepare!

Lucky!  I will have to do liquids starting Oct 2.  My surgery date is Oct 12.  Your meal plan looks pretty good!

Mine is a 1200 calorie diet according to their guidelines and then 2 days prior to surgery I will be on full liquid diet.  Tonight I'm hungry but sticking to the 1200 calories.  I am drinking a lot of water to help fill me up.  Best of luck and prayers for your upcoming surgery.

My doctor's plan said liquids, but since I was incredibly miserable, I contacted his nutritionist and she said that it's cutting the carbs out that matters most. So she recommended I keep eating solid lean proteins, like chicken and tofu, as well as salads and using protein shakes to supplement it. When I came to and was delirious after the procedure, I still moaned out two questions:

1) Was my liver okay and did it actually get done?

2) What size bougie did I get?

Luckily, my liver was in great shape and they said I did fine on my pre-op diet. And my bougie was 36 Fr.
