Wow,Sound like you handled everything pretty well.Congrats on being on the loser bench.I'm glad that everything went good and that your home safe and sound.I can't wait to see your progress.
Sounds like you had a tough time, at least initially. Sorry to hear about that. I feel pretty lucky that I didn't have too much pain. I only asked for pain meds once, the first night, and only had 1/2 dose - don't like how narcotics make me feel. I needed the med because the gas pains were bad and I was having trouble moving in bed. That first night I slept in a chair with my feet up. The only difficulty I had was that a couple of hours after they gave me the pain med, they woke me up to take my vitals. I woke in a cold sweat, and didn't feel right. Turns out my BP was really low. The Dr. said I may be dehydrated and they gave me a whole pouch of IV fluid in an hour, and my BP went back up. I didn't have a drainage tube to take out, so can't comment on that. Anyway, it seems we are all now on the right track. Good luck! Mary
thanks. it was rough but i made it! those who didnt have any/little pain are sooo lucky! i had to ask for pain meds several times, but they eventually started giving them to me around the clock. i only had morphine once and it made me dry heave so didnt ask for that one before. thats scary! i woulda freaked out if my bf went low like that w/ chills etc. i was worried when my temp went up and i got a fever. which is why they kept me an extra day. thanks for your response!
Glad your home and doing better.
Hey I made it through the sleeve and an earthquake. Who woulda thunk a earthquake in VA lol I was in my hospital room just closed my eyes and felt shaking opened eyes whole room was shaking, good thing I wasn't in surgery during that, couldn't imagine lol. I have a lot of pain. Couldn't lay in my bed last night so slept in recliner which I woke up in even more pain and stiff lol. Hopefully as the days go on it gets better. We are officially on the losers bench. Now I gotta come up with a super cool name for my sleeve lol Kerry
