this protein is gross! any suggestions?

im drinking the recommended protein supplement from my doctor. its called Isopure. i got strawberry and vanilla and neither of them taste good. tastes like strawberry milk all watered down. uck! any suggestions? im 3 days postop...

Yikes....if it is regular Isopure then yes....that stuff is nasty.

If you can find it....get Isopure PLUS.  The PLUS is important....it tastes and has a much better consistency than the regular stuff.

Yeah, there is a reason it's called Isopuke! LOL! I love the Oh Yeah brand of shakes from GNC and my doctor considered it a clear liquid since it is water based and doesn't have milk in it! I love the vanilla flavor, just bought two cases the other day and love to add instant coffee to it and shake it up for my coffee fix! Hope this helps!

Ugh. I am hating my protein drinks as well!
Though, I have been mixing 1 scoop of the Isopure w/ 1 scoop of Elite Gourmet (sold at GNC) and mixing it w/ either skim milk or almond milk and some water...and I think it doesn't taste too bad.  I've also been freezing them and turning them into fudge pops!  
As for premade drinks, I'm liking Muscle Milk Light caffe latte and banana creme. :)

I went through so many different protein drinks and hated them all. I found one that I could tolerate until I could eat enough food to get all my protein in. I have to say most people like Nectar brand but here are a few sites to look at.

 Try the chocolate Muscle Milk that comes in huge bags from Costco. It's rich, tolerable, and low-carb. Add a little bit of whipping cream and some raw bakers cocoa and shake it up in a blender botttle. It'll be insanely chocolately and you'll get your protein. Peace.

Premier RTD Chocolate is good, Atkins vanilla I like.. but my favs are the clear beverage-y ones from Syntrax.. here's a great sample kit at a cheap $$. My fav is Iced Tea.. and I love their unflavored to add to my coffee or V8.

I am a little over 1 week postop and I know exactly how you feel. Ive been trying shake after shake, powder after powder and literally gagging them down. Until today...I went to GNC, they let me try their RTD Totally Lean shake and omg its actually good! Tastes just like chocolate milk without that nasty chalky taste. Give it a try!
