You do have to qualify and meet the financial guidelines.
show them 2 most recent pay check stubs and have
a doctors appointment lined up.

Do they do it retroactive?

I had to pay so much out of pocket! I'm going to have to make payments to the hospital ($500 a day for a three day stay) and had to borrow the money from a friend to cover my deductible ($1500). My surgery was August 5th

I think they do have a program for back medical bills, but you have to apply and qualify.
Please call them and ask. It all depends on your income.

Note: this is not for monthly premiums dues... just co payments and prescriptions,.

I don't have a copay but they also reimbursed for the trip down to San Diego (gas and hotel room for whom ever took you), I had my surgery in April. It took about 6 weeks but got a full refund for everything.

Its so very true... I am on this right now with my son. He has asthma really bad, the medication for his breathing machine and all the steriods he was on was so epensive, then i applied to this program and he has no copays and no doesnt have to pay for prescriptions..

I have a question though...does kaiser pay for travel and hotel expenses for Surgery?

The poster above said she had her surgery in San Diego and they reimbursed her.

Call Kaiser and ask them how to get a medical financial assistance form.
I am on kaiser harbor city and I can walk into membership department and pick one up.
Fill out the form, send in two most recent paycheck stubs and fax it in. kaiser membership can fax it for you too. its faster...dont mail it... it gets lost. I always fax mine twice.
