This may not be a popular piece of advice...but here it goes, regardless!

This is your diet, your surgery, and your journey, not your Mother's. I know she's concerned for your well being, but if you pin a food police badge on her chest, the outcome may be her watching every morsel you put in your mouth. This could become a real issue.

It's your responsibility to follow the plan, and eventually you'll settle into behaviors that work specifically for you. I hope your journey is successful, and you live your life to the fullest!!

My plan on paper is similar to yours.  However, I was tolerating things so well, my doctor told me to start trying soft foods a few days earlier when I went in for my 1 week appointment.  Usually the paperwork is a guide and if you feel more comfortable sticking to it, that's fine.  But every situation is different and some people will have to stay on liquids longer or be able to go on soft foods earlier based on each individual's situation.  Do what feels most comfortable to you and if you are really conflicted, just call the dietician or doctor.

I am at my 2wk time of post op, and I have combined my diet phases 1-3. I still drink clear liquids, broth, and protein drinks. But now i can drink v8 juice, and i eat eggs scrambled and or fried with oil spray, i do blenderize my weight controlled oatmeal though...Really dont like creamy soups, so i  havent tried that. no sugar added ice cream is nasty. So im gonna stick to my sf pudding and my no sugar added popsicles, and sf fudge popsicles.. their is no right answer to this question, follow what u think is right. the quicker u introduce a new food, the quicker u are to a new diet phase, if ur eating and its not coming bk up, then u are doing great!! good luck!
