I started mine yesterday.  Maybe it's all in my head but when I do my protein shakes i add SF pudding (Like w. the Vanilla i will do 1 tablespoon banana cream, or a table spoon of peanut butter w. Chocolate) Also I had a total of 1c SF Jello, 2 SF popsicles and for dinner i was allowed 4oz chicken, beef or fish w. 1/2c veggies.

for my "water" intake, its suppose to be 64oz a day, but i'm well over that. And I have Powerade Zero and crystal light.

I know this really sucks being hungry, but look at it this way....what you're doing now is building the bridge for your new life starting in 2 weeks.

Good luck to you,
~Amanda

I would LOVE to have had the chicken in the evening haha  Lucky you!  :)  Today (day 2) pre surgery diet has  been so far so good!!!  I had my protein shake and a bowl of loose cream of wheat and I am approaching hunger already, never did I eat that much before this hahaha.  Solids are more of a blessing then anyone knows!  good luck on your diet, are you scheduled for surgery in Spetember too?  My date is the 12th, can't wait now, the sooner the surgery, the sooner the hunger stops  :)

I just started my two weeks today! I tried to stock up on a variety of flavors. V-8 makes some creamy vegetable soups (in cartons, not cans) so I had cream of broccoli today. It was surprisingly tasty! I also got low sodium veggie juice for another salty choice, and a couple of "cream of" canned soups. Of course, my main meals are protein shakes; I also had a greek yogurt this morning. In between, I'm drinking lots of water with Propel Zero flavors. I had a sugar free fudgecicle for desert.

I also picked up diet cranberry juice on the suggestion of my nutritionist, and a light veggie/fruit juice blend, but I haven't tried them yet. Mostly, I'm just trying to avoid getting bored. So far, I haven't gotten hungry, even when I was making supper for the rest of my family. Good luck!

I really think day one was the worst of it.  Now I am better, but I am losing some energy...  I am not being good with the protein shakes, need to get my rear in gear!

Your doc or nurse should have told you what you can have!  Mine gave me an entire binder of before and after surgery stuff.  I went to a wedding today and thery served stuffed shells so I ate the ricotta in the shells (not the shells) and sauce with it, it filled me up good!  Call your doc, you need to know.  My energy isn't the best either and headahes!

I am on day 5 of my 2 week liquid diet.  It is very restrictive - limited to specific protein shakes (Bariatric Advantage and Unjury).  I can add 8 oz of plain Greek yogurt or milk (skim or soy) or 1/2 cup fresh fruit.  I am not allowed anything else.  I am envious of those of you who were able to have sf pudding, popsicles, soup & broth, and other foods.  I have lost 9 pounds already but I am having a hard time curbing my hunger today and my energy is very low after 5 days of consuming around 550 calories a day.  My daily water intake has been between 70-80 oz - so I am above the 64 oz daily minimum they gave me.  I know this will be worth it in the lng run - with my surgery scheduled for 10 days out - but I am really struggling today.

Parrotlover34:  i understand your thinking as I have pondered that myself.  However, I know the surgery will give me the tools I need to maintain the weight I lose.  I expect to lose 100+ pounds and the restricted stomach I will have after VSG surgery combined with the loss of hunger as a result of the grelin hunger gland being removed should make a drastic difference in me being able to lose the weight and keep it off.  Protein shakes alone would give me a boost start - but i know I would eventually go back to old ways and gain all the weight back - as I have done so many times before.  Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the very best if luck!  - Sherry
