Two things:
I would complain to the surgeon about his staff's attitude and instructions. He should know that she is telling people to get a prescription for diet pills. That is absolutely idiotic and far, far out of her scope of practice.
Second, you should be following YOUR SURGEONS PLAN. There is no reason that you should be deviating from YOUR PLAN this early out, no matter what a bunch of strangers on the internet say.
