Not angry at you in ANY way.....but I was just going to say that this is a PRIME example of a surgeon just "cutting and dumping".

I can't believe that they would do surgery on you and not even give you the most basic nutritional advice as to what you should eat and why when you leave the hospital.  This is why people come here and ask questions that seem dumb.....they are either not paying attention....or like in this case....they aren't being taught anything.

My thoughts exactly. So glad everyone is chiming in with so much info, makes me sad for the MANY out here that aren't given an education on such a big life change.

May I also add that protein is a very important component to sucessfully healing from your surgery.
 Nutrients that are most important for healing are protein, zinc, and vitamin C. Drinking enough liquids to stay hydrated.  Good Luck on your journey.
