To AnninVA, the Newbies, Middies and Vets
Annie,
Thanks for taking the task to post this important information for the newbies!!
As all of us have seen numerous times, I think the vets are really getting burnt out and frustrated.
I think it's important for us "middies" to start taking on some of the newbie questions and paying forward the valuable information we've learned in our journey from vets who were middies when we started.
I don't want to see new VSG folks getting beat up because they didn't get the info they needed from their surgeons. The bottom line is, it happens. Yes, pick the best surgeon thats available to you and do your homework. Hopefully this will change in the future as more and more VSG's are being performed across the nation and things get more standarized. People pick their surgeon for a multitude of different reasons and it is what it is. We need to be diligent in giving newbies information they seek, or if needed, getting them to a vet who may have a better insight
This forum (in my opinion, anyway) is educational as much as supportive. I can't thank the vets enough for all they've done and shared from their top rated surgeons and their programs. If we all keep sharing, our surgery will be reconized as being a stellar surgery with great outcomes.
Thanks for listening to me rant!
Heidi
