HOW WERE THE MAJORITY OF US blastin ya a cap!  TO KNOW!!

I thought several peeps suggested you get a copy of YOUR XRAYS!! I remember you sayin FUCK IT frequently and eating whatever the hell YOU WANTED too! So I of course addressed the issue of NON-COMPLIANCE!

AND How do you know for certain this DS doc ain't pushin DS? Unless YOU KNOW for a FACT you got a BOTCHED VSG. I didn't know an endoscope could MEASURE a stomach.  I KNOW of peeps Kimchee n Joyce that DID have BOTCHED VSGs FOR A FACT showed Xrays here.......it WAS a struggle no doubt for them...with majority of ghrelin INTACT especially in Joyce's hourglass shaped sleeve but she DID manage to lose 80 pounds in ~8 months...Went w/ Aceves to RESLEEVE...he couldn't undo the damage POMPA did to her and she wound up with RNY.   Aceves ALSO RESLEEVED Kimchee successfully...after ALMANZA's **** up (Xray below)  I can't remember how much weight she lost post op...I think she RESLEEVED at about 4-5 months out.

here's Kimchee's  I can't find Joyce's I thought I bookmarked it..but ya can do a search on OH "JOYCE P VSG " I think she goes by necklace sumthin or ruther now.

I think FIRST and FOREMOST Blondie ,-)  PLEASE GET A COPY of ALL YOUR MEDICAL RECORDS from VSG. Gotta go to 2 PLACES!!
medical records n radiology

...YES inc. XRAYS. CHECK ALL..surrounding the DATES of your VSG. ...ya go to radiology at the hospital as well as MEDICAL RECORDS  ....radiology will PUT EVERYTHING  on DISC for you.  TELL THEM ITS FOR CONTINUM OF CARE w/ Dr. Buchwald.  You'll need Buchwalds ADDRESS n PHONE NUMBER when fillin out the forms..so there's no charge. BUT THEY RELEASE IT ALL to YOU!!   (Ive looked at all my ultrasounds, upper gis cat scans, from gallbladder problems for last year!! lol)  can open the disc yerself to VIEW.

May TAKE Medical records a few days to get em to you.  Usually radiology discs done within 15 minutes!

Your VSG surgeon will NEVER KNOW, YOU DO NOT NEED or SHOULD CONTACT HIM WHATSOEVER!! imo of course!!

Take the info to BUCHWALD, to ATTORNEYS specializin in medical malpractice..pro bono. .. if ya should proceed w/ that route. I would even consul****torney and ask for a letter of  DEMAND for REIMBURSEMENT, and damages!  I DON'T KNOW HOW TO WORK THAT....PLEASE CONSULT with OBESITY LAW too.
Those guys are GREAT imo....and MAY HAVE A DEFINATE INTEREST IN YOUR SIT!!! GIVEN this IS TRULY (by all indications it IS) ...a BOTCHED SLEEVE.

Haha silly girl I was NOT referring to you!  All of the people on the sleeve board have been supportive and nice for the most part.  The people on the DS board are another story...but we all know that.  I had to block one lady.  Rediculous.  I have had copies of everything except for radiology (didn't even THINK of it until you said that in here, since they would have it from the leak test and such) and also pathology....who would have record of the stomach that WAS removed and how big it was.  Contacted some attorneys today and I'll hear back from them Monday.  According to the secretaries, I don't even request the records, the attorneys do that.  I am going to get the rest I don't have anyways tho.  Thanks for the link!

Well I know in Canada they actually have pathology reports on specimens coming from the operating room and it will say how much was removed including the measurements and weight. I imagine the USA does the same thing.

I even got them to take a picture of my stomach that was removed, just because I wanted a picture not for back out. I just pulled out my xrays and still looking at them. I can't believe someone just removed the top of someone's stomach and called it a VSG.

I would probably start with having the new surgeon request the surgery report from the old surgeon.
Then get a copy from the new surgeon for yourself.

If you find any discrepancies such as bougie size then take it to an attorney. Most attorneys will try a case they think has merit without a retainer/fees. They just take their cut from the settlement.

In my experience these things can take 3 years or more to settle.

So sorry to hear about this. That must suck. I would call the old Dr. and see how he planes to fix this. He should pay for the new surgery. I know this would never happen. But if you threaten then at least you will know if you have more options. Just don't let him do the new surgery. I would not let him near me.

I have some experience in the legal field.  I think I would consult with one or two attorneys before I contact the doctor again.   See what your options are.  I would not want to speak with the doctor's office and raise any flags until I knew what recourse if any I had.

Good luck

Do not contact the first surgeon's office yourself.  Ever again.  All contact should be through your lawyer if you decide to sue.  Go to the medical records office at the hospital where you did your surgery.  Sign a release and request all of yor medical records.  They should give it to you on a disc.  Then take some time and follow up with your new surgeon.  Have some cake and ice cream and do what you need to get insurance to authorize you again.  Show your records to the new surgeon and have whatever surgery is next.  During this time give a lawsuit serious thought.  It won't be fast or easy.  There is an attourney who posted a reply to a guy thinking about a tattoo I think it was last night.  Maybe she'll offer her opinion.

I'm really sorry you are going through this mess after being brave enough to decide to have surgery.

Thank you.  I have all of my records from surgery and since, so does my new surgeon.  I suppose I will just have to take them into an attorney and get the ball rolling once I get denied again...or maybe I should just do it now.
