3 MONTH POST-OP UPDATE
Hi Friends,
My 3 month surgiversary was on Saturday, but I wanted to wait and post until after my surgeon's appt. yesterday.
I lost 12 pounds last month, and 14+ ". The doctor was very pleased with my progress. All of my labs were good, which I was a little worried about. I forget to take my dang vitamins sometimes....! I asked about the terrible constipation issue, he said drink more water. That will be my focus this month. I DO NOT drink enough water. I just am not a huge drinker and get WAY less than I should. When I brought up my energy, he asked how many calories I was consuming. I told him 600-700 per day. He said, " well there's your problem!!" He said he expects me to be at 1,000 calories a day by now. I do trust him and his expertise, but I also trust the vets here MORE, because they have been there and done that, ya know? So I think I am going to up my calories a bit ( not to 1000!!) and see if that does help the energy. If I see it start messing up my losing, then I will drop back down. The surgeon also told me that he expects his patients to have lost 30% of their excess weight by month 3, and I am at 34%. So, I guess that is good.
Here is the breakdown, for any who are interested:
No pre-op diet or loss
1st month: Down 26 pounds and 15 1/4"
2nd month: Down 14 pounds and 14 1/4"
3rd month: Down 12 pounds and 14 3/4"
Total: 52 pounds lost and 44 1/4" lost in 3 months! YAY!!! I may not be the fastest and may not be the slowest, but I am JUST RIGHT for ME!!
Have a good month!
Sheri
