No surgery for me

Don thats my case because when i first went to him about it he was against it but i told him that i would try one more time,Thats why joined WW again and clearly it didnt work so surgery is my next best bet.Now that i  know he is not on board for the betterment of me its time for me to find another PCP and i have,When i meet my new PCP next week if he is not on board i'm going to keep searching until i find one.

I'm sorry...... I guess this is partly why they call this a journey. I had to change my primary Physician also because she wouldnt approve of my surgeon, because he wasnt on HER list. I know how frustrating that can be. In my case it was before I started the process. I can only imagine how frustrating this is after you though you completed the process... please try to stay encouraged and don't give up.

Tee I'm staying focus but i'm very annoyed to say the least.At this point there is nothing that i can do all i can do is continue to push foward.I know that before i know it i will on the bench.I see that Dr roslin is your surgeon how was he?>

Yes, he is so far all is okay with him. I think a lot of people mistake him because of his way....
The only thing that matter to me in picking a surgeon is skill and he seems to be the best that I can get here in NY. I have four kiddies  and i want to have the best chances I can get to get home to them Post op.

Yea i've heard mixed emotions about him.I actually wanted to go to him but he is out my network.I have 1199 and they do cover the surgery but its has to be with a surgeon in nework.So i'm going to have my surgey at Mount Sinia with the chief of the department.He is awesome and i love him and he is very skilled at what he does .

MY first Primary Doc wouldnt let me choose him because I had HIP group insurance, known as Queens Long Island Medical Group. They are nasty ******s becuase they wont allow patience to choose your own specialist. they basically force one on you and if you dont like it then ,basically o well. DR. R office accepts HIP but My  intial primary would NOT give me the refferal because in the group plan they choose your specialist. I wouldnt allow them to choose my surgeon, no way. The only way to get the referral to Dr.R was to leave the group  and switch to primary outside of the group. Crazy but I can't allow my primary to choose a surgeon because red tape non sense. thats not how you do things. I still cant get over it. She was very matter of fact about things too. still annoyed.

I don't know if this will hel*****t but my friend who has the gastric Bypass had something similar happen.  After the 6 months her PCP said she thought she could continue without the surgery and said she would fill the paperwork out to reflect that.  Her surgeon was able to recommend another Dr and that Dr after hearing what happened wrote a letter to the insurance company saying that because of her extreme weight and other health issues she felt it could be detrimental to her health and well being to wait the 6 months.  Within a week she had her answer and was approved for surgery and had it done 2 weeks later.   If you have comorbitities and a willing Dr its worth a shot.  Good luck

Thank you for the info Tanienie thats what im going to do when i meet with my new PCP next week and if he is all cool with it then i might still be able to get my surgery but right now everything is on hold until i talk to him.Hopefully he would be that cool and write the letter for me.
