Suggestions for Vitamins
I'm glad you are doing good, I'm only repeating what I've learned.. and many dietitians do give out some bad advice, I'm sure you've noted that here too.. like the multi provides iron.. unfortunately, since it also has calcium in it, you are getting very little of that 18mg of iron as calcium and iron fight for the same uptake pathway.. Iron needs to be taken separate from calcium and many other things by about 2 hrs to be absorbed, unless you are on the much more expensive heme type.
Flintstone Vitamin are not good for you they are missing alot of what we need. Try going to Bariatic Advantage and email or call for FREE samples. Building Blocks will also give FREE samples bbildingblocks.com. Celebrite Vitamins too will give FREE samples. I take Celebrite pills 3 a day. BA is 6 a day. You can mix them in your shakes. Crush them in some apple sauce or pudding or other soft foods.
I was instructed no vites for 2 weeks (they can make you nauseous..) after that- I used NOW brand liquid vites, until I ran out, then switched to Centrum women's ultra. Please use an adult complete high quality vite.. and you need B12 sublingual, not one you swallow! You don't have as much intrinsic factor now that most of your stomach is gone, so swallowing a B12 is not really useful..
Here's what I take:
early out:
Opurity calcium citrate chewable (sweet-tart flavor)
NOW liquid multi
VitaLady B12 2000mcg (any sublingual is fine, but try to find the Methyl form not Cyano.. Methyl is much better utilized..)
After a month or so:
~Centrum Women's Ultra (pop one in right after a full protein meal if you get a sick feeling.. vites on an empty stomach never agreed with me, even pre-op.) Take 1-2 a day..
~NOW Vit D 2000iu (3x day, based on labs- I was low..)
~Vitalady Tender Iron 1 capsule per day
~Calcium Citrate 1200mg a day, whichever brand you like best, I prefer Vitaladys Tender Cal/Mg/D3 as the magnesium solves the constipation issue.. and I also use a Cal Citrate powder from NOW brand since the magnesium does such a good job!
Those are my essentials, but I also pop a biotin, some Omega 3, and evening primrose oil..
Edit: forgot to mention, any multi that has calcium & iron, you will not get the full benefit from. Iron cannot be absorbed when taken with calcium, so be sure to space your iron out 2 hrs away from other vites, calcium, dairy, eggs and caffeine.. most of us take it before bed. So even though there's iron in some multis- don't even bother counting it.

I talked to celebratevitamins.com customer service because the sample link would not work. Their link was given out on a sample site and thousands of people ordered most who did not have surgery so samples are now $3.00 instead of free but the rep implied you get even more samples :) their phone nuber is 877-424-1953
