Who has had skin removal?
I am scheduled for a tummy tuck and breast reduction/lift on October 13th. I'll be honest, I'm a bit nervous. I'm mostly bummed about not being able to snuggle my kids (Ewan is 4 1/2 and Feenie is 5 months) but I know I will feel much better once it's all done and gone. My shoulders and back aren't going to know what to do. I'll probably fall on my butt from the weight being gone in the front. ;)
At any rate, how long did it take you to recover? Are you happy with how it turned out? Was it a dramatic loss in weight and size?
Thanks, friends!

Hey there,
I did a TT about 2 months ago and love the results. Makes a huge difference! I had almost 7 pounds of skin and tissue removed from my stomach and 4 pounds in lipo from my tummy, back and sides. Recovery is horrid. Be prepared. I felt horrible for about a week I wanted to die and then week two still pretty crumby by week 3 I could almost stand up straight. Id say week 6 I felt human… but so worth it! Im still pretty sore from the lipo and I had surgery in July!
For me the difference felt big...

Wow. Thanks for showing me what I will probably look like in several months. I have been worrying about the excess skin, and I'm only 10-days out from my sleeve. I'm a lot older than you, so I'm not sure if I'll be interested in a TT. But, I am happy to have an idea of what I will look like. I actually feel a lot better and no longer worried.

My stomach is a bigger, flabbier, fatter version of what you've got going on in your before picture. To add to the joy, I've had some skin breakdown/rashes/yeast infections in the crease under the big flappy roll part. (ewwww).
I go to my Dr. EACH. AND. EVERY. TIME. I want to document every single one, and PRAY for insurance to step in and help with the removal of excess skin down the road. (My plastic surgeon said I could just pay the difference for the TT and lipo).
Ah, dreaming....
But thanks, Jen, for keeping it real on the recovery. It seriously scares me!

I had a lower body lift and breast lift 1 year ago. I did not need lipo as I was already well under goal and don't have much body fat. My recovery was super easy and almost pain free. I was off pain meds by like day 3 or so and then just took ibuprofen for swelling. I also did not require muscle repair as I have always been a gym rat and have very tight abdominal muscles. All in all I had a very good experience and am going in for round 2...arms and inner thighs on Nov. 2nd. In all, I had less than 3 pounds of skin removed. And it'll probably be less for the arms and thighs.
I was back in the gym by week 3 and back to a full weight lifting routine by 6 or 7 weeks. I do believe the most painful part of plastics is probably lipo. So if you are having a lot then you need to expect much more discomfort. Hope this helps.
