Finally Some Good Stuff Happening

So I had my appointment with the Exercise Therapist today.  He did all sorts of things and says I'm a very healthy obese woman and if we could magically disapear all the fat right now I have a good amount of muscle, which will really help in the weight loss.  Yeah!

I then went to my surgeon's area and met with the horrible coordinator.  Well his attitude has really changed (thanks to my husband) he got me my appointment for my upper GI on Oct. 27th and then my pre-op appointment for Nov 17th.  

This is where the bad news comes.  The OR is completely booked through the rest of the year and they haven't opened up the 2012 calendar to make appointments in 2012.  He said what they are doing is once I have my pre-op appointment I go in a "holding pen" then if someone gets sick, cancels or whatever he starts calling people.  The first person to say yes gets that surgery date.  I still have a slim chance that I'll get the surgery done this year.  

There should be 2 new GI OR's being finished in January so the ability for him to perform surgery's should increase greatly after the start of the new year.  

For now I'll leave it to fate and continue to lose until then!

Congratulations on soldiering thru (couldn't resist that)! Glad to see you aren't giving up on your dream. WTG!!

 Oh yeah and I'm down 10 lbs in 2 weeks on my pre-op diet.  Basically it's like the post-op diet but more of it.  I'm eating about 1500 calories a day but losing steadily so for now I'll keep it there.  I have to do the 800 calorie 2 week pre-op diet so I'm sure I'll drop more weight whenever that happens.  I know that 10lbs isn't a ton, and it's mostly water but I'm happy about it none the less.  At least it is in the correct direction.
