i'm dreaming about it.  fantasizing even.  it's horrible.  hopefully once i have my week check up on thursday dear old dr. will clear me for full liquids and i can experience PROTEIN again.  i feel like a junkie.

what's all the new sleevers dreaming about?

oh yeah, and for the puree stage?  nothing sounds better than blended chicken with stock to moisten it.  oh.my.god.

it's days like this that i am thankful that i am reminded that i am a food addict and will always be, whether my stomach is 100% there or only 15% there.

wishing everyone a great day tomorrow...

usually my dr. says clear liquids (jello, broth, decaf tea, crystal ligh****er, etc...) for days 1-3 after surgery but because i had alot of nausea and some complications he asked i stay on clear for a week after.  tomorrow is my week surgiversary so i'll be asking him at the check up if i can switch to full since i'm so shaky!
i've seen so many different dr.'s orders on here... mine required a 3 week pre op liquid only diet, others require nothing.

i've weighed in at surgery morning at 263 and am now down to 247.  all water weight i am sure.  curious to see what he says tomorrow.  :)

how are you doing?  surgery went well?

Every food plan is a little different depending on your surgeon. The liquids and puree/mushies stages are tough to get through, but in the grand scheme of things it's a very short time frame to tolerate. Hang in there!

Yeah I've noticed that there are some variations between post op instructions.
Mine are:
Week 1 & 2 protein shakes, jello, broth, liquids, soup, low fat yogurt, fat free popsicles, and skim milk.
Week 3 & 4 it says low fat yogurt, jello, scrambled eggs, apple sauce, well cooked veggies, pudding, ground meats and fish plus the above mentioned. And of course water.

I laughed when I saw the title of your post!!!  I LIVED on tomato soup as a new post op....LOVED IT!!!  I would even puree roasted tomatoes in my tomato soup and then add some shredded cheese to get it all gooey and full o' love.  Mmmmmm.

I didnt know we could have yogurt in the first 2 weeks. I have been living on protein shakes, broth, and jello. I would love a yogurt for variety

only some doctors let you have yogurt in the beginning. my doctor does not even allow jello for the first 3 weeks so check with your doctor before trying yogurt so soon. And if you do, make sure it doesn't have fruit.

I think suffering through the clear liquids stage as directed by my doctor is alot better than suffering through a leaking pouch.

Just something to think about.
Good Luck!

:)  i used to only like tomato soup with milk and butter in it (sounds gross, i know) but i'm positive it will taste fabulous just plain!

thinking positive and hoping i can try some tomorrow night.  what's interesting is i thought i would love chicken broth post op but can't really stomach it.  i prefer room temp water or sf ice pops instead of warm liquids.  maybe i'll have to eat the soup cold! :P

Yep yep, I've been eating yogurts, slowly, but eating them.. the low fat/light ones of course. But variety indeed. I also put some frozen fruit in my protein shake and made it into a smoothie with skim milk.. I made it thinner than I normally would have but it was fabulous!!

And I'm so doing the tomato soup with the extra tomatoes blended in and cheese after my 2 weeks, yum! Although I think I could do it now, sans the cheese and extra tomatoes.
