Was anyone alone for their surgery?

I stayed post op at an after care facility, it was wonderful! Ask your doctor, I am sure he knows of some in the area, mostly people who get plastic surgery go there to recover but I was allowed because they work with my surgeon. It was the best experience! Originally I was going to stay only overnight after my surgery, but I don't really have a lot of help at home so I decided to stay another day and I am not sorry. They took really good care of my every need, can administer pain meds and I had the IV for an extra day which was good because I was worried about getting dehydrated. I am in the LA area so if you want some info just let me know. I love love love my surgeon! He is amazing, he came to visit me twice in 1 day, morning and after office hours. He just sat down and we talked like old friends. He is a top notch surgeon. Not suggesting you should change docs, just saying. You will do great, today is day 6 post op and by far the best day I have had yet! Each day gets better!!! Congrats on your decision!!!

Yes - I did it alone too. And honestly - it was not a problem and I traveled from Minnesota to Mexico! I actually loved the time I had to focus on the journey ahead.

Best wishes on your journey!

I also did it alone.  I don't have family that lives in the area so no one came to visit me in the hospital except my husband who stayed for less than a half hour, drove me crazy and I asked him to leave.  I did, however meet a lovely lady in the same room with me.  She had lap band surgery, and we kept each other company and today we are friends.

I'm also going alone from Toronto, Canada to Mexico in January and during blizzard season too!! Yikes! I have a 5 hour flight and it's also my first time flying alone. I am looking forward to the alone time, and confident everything will be fine. It's the snow, I am worried about. Can't have my flight delayed. That worries me more than the trip itself.

Good luck.
