so i'm doing ok... trying to push fluids ( still can't get over 40 per day), increase protein (2 shakes per day are 50 g of protein and 16 oz. fluid), and not get depressed over being in the house.  my husband is away this weekend so my parents are "babysitting" me as he didn't want me alone incase i passed out.  i feel like i am a prisoner in my own home at times.  one can only go for so many walks... i also am trying to restart my zoloft this week, i know that has had such a huge effect on me.  i am starting to feel the sadness of not "enjoying" food since i'm still on full liquids.

just needed to get it out... i'm sure tomorrow will be a better day...

Hang in there kiddo, it will get better. You need to get out more. Are you off pain meds? If so, you should be cleared to drive. I was at Walmart about a week out from surgery. Granted I rode around in the little motorized cart, but I did not care. I had an excuse. The thing is, I really didn't need anything either, just needed to get out of the house. Starting back on your zoloft sounds like a great idea. In addition to weight loss, the surgery itself isa MAJOR stressor. Well I hope tomorrow is a brighter day for you. Sending you a big virtual hug to get ya over the hump. Keep your head up.

I am thankful for my House mates, they have made my day of surgery to the day I came home to today watching football. I think I am at about 40 oz of liquid a day right now. The Mixed Berry Powerade Zero has been a life saver along with the Crystal Light powder.  I love my walks they have a new meaning for me, they have become a mark of pride to know they are my first steps to my new life, now maybe I will feel like you when I have been home for the rest of my recovery time.

I hope you recovery goes well.

Hi there Jessica.  I'm all too familiar with the deep dark evils of depression.  It's never a good place to be.  It's great that you're on OH becuase the support you get here is awesome.  I mean, who else knows everything that you've gone through and can give you advice and guidance.  You've already lost 17 pounds so you're on your way.  Keep yourself busy and distracted.  Go shopping and if you don't already, go buy a goal dress.  And if you have one, how about another one?  See a good movie, read a good book, and have a visit with someone you haven't seen in a while.  Enjoy your "me" time.  Right now it's all about YOU.

Best wishes and happy health to you.

  OH group hug!

thanks everyone... thought i was prepared for how hard this would be mentally but it took me by surprise.  i think its the "me" time i'm having trouble with.  i'm always the one who is the caretaker!  it's hard to let people do things for me and not be able to do them myself.  i am cleared to drive but with hubby away he asked that i don't until he gets home.  he was in the car with me when i tried it last friday and wasn't too thrilled that my reaction time was so slow (could be that i'm under 300 calories a day and still adjusting).
