I was diagnosed with sleep apnea right after my dr. referred me to the WLS program. The c-pap was not enough and I had to have 1 liter of oxygen bled in, as well. I wondered where I'm I was with this issue, but couldn't afford another sleep study right now. The respitory people set me up (free) with a monitor for my oxygen sat and I used it to monitor my sats overnight, without the oxygen bled in. I just got the order from the dr. to d/c the oxygen as my sats were excellent with just the c-pap!!!!! I will save close to $40/month in rental fees for the oxygen making machine, and no longer have to deal with the obnoxious noise of the machine either. AND... they also said that when my weight goes down some more, they can repeat that test without me using the c-pap to see if my oxygen sat is where it should be steadily through the night, which if it is, would be a good indicator that the apnea is resolved. I LOVE MY SLEEVE!!!!!!!!

Hi Cindi! Lynn told me they were trying to start up a support group at Inland. They just did an informational meeting there on 9/30, so they'll be getting more people from this atra. I'm still planning on the 11/4 support group in Bangor and the clothing swap.
