feeling sorry for myself today... need to just get it all out so i can move on.

so frustrated that i get so tired so easily and a simple on hour trip to 2 stores can wipe me out completely.

worried about when i go back to work a week from monday if i'll be able to hang in there.  thinking of asking my boss if i can do 6 hour days instead of 8 for the first week or 2.  ease into it.

upset that my husband is frustrated because i am not able to drink alot.   after the ER trip on tuesday for dehydration he is upset if i can only get a certain amount in and thinking i'm not trying hard enough.  told him it's really easy to "forget" to drink because i have absolutely no desire.  told me that wasn't an excuse.  i know it's not, but what the hell am i supposed to say?

mad at myself for not being able to tolerate my crushed zoloft and having been off it for 2 weeks is really affecting me.  starting liquid zoloft tonight.

on a good note, i had a coupon for a clothes store and got 2 pairs of new jeans in smaller sizes.  I was in a 24, now in a 22 and fit into a 20 but not comfortably , but after about 20 more pounds know i'll fit in to it fine.

Ah that's so hard to get in the fluid I know. But I had a great mentor who told me use a timer to start, and set it every 15 minutes. I also began writing down every fluid measurement so I could keep exact track of what was or was not going im. That helped tremendously, because some days I thought I had drank a lot, but as I added it up it really was't, just felt like it. So I had to constant;y push myself. The more I did that the more I was able to drink and each day got better. Now I drin**** water constantly!

Oh another thing that really helped me, I put a lot of ice in a glass, and put only half with water, then I would chew on the ice and take little sips. Somehow chewing on ice pieces really worked and it keeps me hydrated.

Good luck to you hun, hang in there!!

i've tried the timer thing today.  missed 3 of my alarms (wasn't able to drink because i was too full). my surgeon (who is a huge jokester) said to me after ER visit:  how'd you get dehydrated?!  i said: i'm only able to take in 32-36 ounces per day , surgeon said: well at least we know the sleeve is working. :)

love him.  i needed the laugh at that point.  i am increasing slowly but still can't hit 50 yet.  today so far i had: 9 oz. protein shake, 11 oz. water, 4 oz. soup, 8 oz gatorade.  still have 3 hours to get in some more.

i'm just not hungry/thirsty!   i realized i had hardly any calories today too.  just the milk from the protein shake.

this is harder than i thought.

for those going back to work so quickly: god bless you!   i really think there is no way i could have gone back yet at 2 weeks out.  i have off next week and am going back the 24th.  next wed/thurs. trying pureed so hopefully that will give me energy.  it's just such a weird feeling not to want to eat.

I'm no pro but I am an RN.  One of the reasons for being tired is dehydration.  It's a circle - you're too tired to drink, you dehydrate; you dehyrate, you get too tired to drink.  Keep a bottle of something non carbonated next to you and take it everytime you move.  If you sip a little every 5 minutes, you'd be surprised how much would disappear.  Don't forget to put some next to the bed at night.  Good luck.

webgrandma said just what I was going to say about dehydration.

I can totally sympathize with having no urge to drink at all. One thing that really works for me is breaking the day into blocks.

I have a 16 oz water bottle, and it is my goal to do four of those/day, not counting my protein drinks (that is just bonus fluid).  Since I'm asleep about eight hours, that leaves 16 hrs to get those four bottles in.  So I set my cell phone alarm for 8am, noon, 4pm, and 8pm.  And at those times, I make sure I am drinking and I finish the bottle before the next time period starts.  If I actually make an effort to think about sipping, I can do almost the whole bottle in an hour.

Those times and that amount work for me, of course you could do any amount and any hr interval you want.
