found first thing that doesn't agree with my new sleeve

Have 3 more days of full liquids before purees.  Emailed my NUT and asked if I could have some strained split pea soup (so tired of cream of chicken/tomato right now).  She said go ahead if it was strained, but may be too gaseous.

Had about 1 ounce and started feeling icky in my esophagus.  Listened to my body and put it away and thank goodness I did, because felt really icky for the next half hour.  If I would've kept going, I'm sure it would've come up.  Yuck.

I'll try again in a month or so just to see if I tolerate it.  Although it was strained, it was really thick and I'm wondering if this is why I had the problem .  I will be 3 weeks out on Thursday.

I plan on starting my purees with some ff ricotta cheese with some marinara sauce (eggface's ricotta bake) and then some rotisierre chicken pureed with chicken stock.

hoping i can tolerate both of these!

Good luck and enjoy but warning...a bite or two might just be enough.  3 weeks isn't far out of surgery and your new sleeve is still healing, likely still swollen and just can't hold much volume.  Thicker means you need to chew more and eat less. Enjoy the ricotta bake and try out Eggface's other recipes as you move through your stages.
