frustration with friend who had sleeve done
Don't be frustrated....keep doing your thing. She will learn once her honeymoon period is over and that approach no longer works. She will then stall or start regaining.
Maybe then she will listen to you. Did you guys have the same doctor? Is she truly abusing her plan or is this what the doc told her to do?
Just asking because there are some reall messed up dietary plans out there.

....Is how heated you sound over your so-called friend that also had VSG done. It is sooo normal to be ticked off about it for a second....but really, it might just bring you down if you put any more of your energy, even thinking about how irresponsible she is being. Focus on YOU and how MUCH YOU ARE GOING TO FOLLOW what you know, and should follow. You stick with it, and forget about others...takes too much time. Besides, I just had a VSG 7 days ago, let me tell you...I am almost too tired mentally to even come on this site, but I know it is my main support, besides my wonderful family. Advice: DO NOT HANG OUT WITH THE JUNK-FOOD MONGER, you know what they say...Birds of a feather flock together. You can't imagine even a bite of a munchkin..YUCK. all that hard work, down the drain. you can pray for her, and hope she smartens up, until then....see how things go. I really wish you all the best, you sound very smart, and like you want to stick to the right things. Awesome! Keep up the positive thinking...btw--if you would like to Add me as one of your friends, we can chat in the future....ttyl. We are all different and what works for one doesnt work for the other. I have a similar situation with my friend who had by pass and I had sleeve. She did everything by the book. I on the other hand haven't what I call been the best patient. But I lost 150 lbs on my own before I did surgery never gained any of it back it took me 7 years to do. I got the sleeve to finish up the process because I had let myself get to 400lbs at the age of 18. Since my sleve in april I have lost 67 lbs and I battle with what everyone else battles with. But My first 3-4 months were the worsts months of my life I had pretty much every complication in the book and I got the point were I didnt care what I ate as long as it stayed down. I don't eat the best things every single day. Life is about balance. It sounds like your friend isnt taking this seriously but in the end its on her. I know my body I know what I can and cant handle. I don't understand how she could eat those things 3-4 weeks out. I was lucky to get a protien shake down. lol. I get very upset with people that know i had the sleeve done and I make a poor decision on a food one time and I get crap for it. Well WE ARE ALL HUMAN and we have been blessed with some amazing food out there. Sometimes to just keep our sanity we have to indulge. I know this forum doesn't talk to much about that but its the truth. One cookie isnt going to be set u back people. But in the end its a personal battle we can support each other but this battle is with in us and we have to figure it out.
Also, I think drs should encourage more of a mental and physical way of life before surgery so people learn a balance.
You friend is going to figure it out. She ISNT getting lucky there are complications well into a year after surgery and she will snap out of it. All u can do is make simple suggestions and keep swimming!!!

I was sleeved on 10/3 so I am a newbie albeit an experienced one since i was with my wife who was sleeved 1/3/09
I have had zero bad issues and feel great. I on my own have moved past the mushies I did call my doc to check and they said go slowly but it was ok with them . I feel like I can eat normally only small small bites, very well chewed and stop before I get full . I have limited carbs to only a bite here or there. I drink lots of water which is going down much better I cant stand the protein drinks so I am trying to maximise protein via real food.
I have no loss of energy or stamina, with 30+ weight loss I feel great. Am I wrong or risking anything. i feel like I am letting my sleeeve tell me what it can do but i am not pushing it.
