How's trick or treating going at your house?
Tonight is the first leg of the "Triple Crown of Eating". We generally get about 200 kids on our street, though it's been a little slower this year. Both of my kids were out trick or treating, and my husband had the little one with him, so I've been greeting all of the witches, grim reapers, princesses, etc. (they're back now and sharing the job). I've had a lot of fun, as I usually do, but this year I haven't eaten any candy, nor have I even considered it. I feel truly blessed and grateful for tonight. When I had my 6 week with the surgeon (I'm 10 weeks out now), she asked what my plans were for the holidays, starting with Halloween. She wasn't just chit chatting, but wanted me to think about how I would get through the holiday season without getting into trouble with food. We talked about that overdoing it on the actual holiday isn't the problem for those of us with weight issues, but the whole period, especially all of the leftovers. I am hoping that tonight's candy is all gone - from 2 big bowls we are down to less than 1/4 of a bowl as I write. If it were up to just me, I'd throw the rest away, but my husband will probably balk at doing that. So, I am writing about this topic to all of you to increase the strength needed to get through this first leg. Thank you all for the support and strength! Mary
We've have no one come to our house. We recently moved and our enclave is kid free...but thought may get people driving in. I bought lots of good chocolate....and have been eating it much of the day! I have enjoyed it immensely! But just packed the remainder up and will send it to the office with my husband tomorrow.
