Halloween is kicking my ass
You can't beat yourself up for what's already happened, but you can plan for future gatherings so it doesn't happen again. since you are hosting your daughters/husbands celebrations, you have control over what you serve. make a healthy dish that you love, and make sure you eat protein prior to the party. when you want to snack on something during it, go to that healthy dish made just for you!
Take your husband on a grownup date- maybe to a nice restaurant. You can skip the cake- he'll be more interested in other "dessert". Or just get cupcakes for him and the kids- no leftovers. At your daughter's party remember how you feel today and stick to protein snacks.

As long as you treat all mistakes as learning experiences you'll do just fine. I know that I have very little willpower when I comes to candy. I noticed as the candy starting coming home, I was picking at it. So, since my husband has no problem with candy, he keeps it underwraps in his office to dole out to the kids.
He is out of town this wee****il Saturday and he agreed to keep the candy well-hidden. So, before he left, I gave the girls four baggies (he's gone four days) and told them they could four pieces of candy in each bag. Each day they would get a baggie of candy to eat when they wanted. Since they know there are only four pieces in a bag, there is no way I could sneak a piece. This may seem ridiculous, but I have to accept my limitations and set myself up for success. At this point, my girls (2 and 4) have no issues with weight, so I'd like to teach them to enjoy treats in moderation. So far this has been working well.
