Why don't I do it more often?

I just finished 15 min on the eliptical at 10:30 pace and then the entire legs and back P90X routine at the gym.  I feel on top of the world, well on top of the world with a sore ass and calves.  I walk everyday but doing these harder workouts is difficult due to childcare issues.  My husband happens to have today off.  Now I'm working on Sat and Sun which used to be my hard core workout days so I'm not sure when I'm going to fit it in.

I'm going to have to figure something out because workout out that hard really does make me feel awesome after.  So how do you fit your workouts in?  I already get up at 5am so earlier isn't really an option!

My local Y has FREE child watch for 90 min on weekdays, so I make going to workout a family affair!

I'm a tv watching eliptical and weight lifting person personally. I'm always trying to multi-task.

Remember that any movement is better than no movement. One crazy days, (most of my days are) I try to fit in lots of mini-workouts while doing the mundane chores of the day.

I do up and down stairs (one up 2 down, etc) when taking the laundry to the bedrooms. While putting laundry in the washer I do squats, picking up one piece of clothing at a time. Washing dishes finds me doing sidekicks or glute exercises.

Yardwork lately has all been upper body work with raking, and hauling stuff away (we have 4 acres of yard), along with lots of bending and squatting.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is get your exercise while enjoying your life too. So often we forget that it's about enjoying the journey, not just about the destination.

Best wishes on this.

I have just joined a gym for variety - my goal is to go 3 to 4 days a week, some mornings, one evening (yoga class) and/or one of the two weekend days.

That said, go to Amazon and search for Walk Away The Pounds. Simple, at home DVDs you can do whenever you have 15 minutes (the starter 1 minute walk) to an hour (the advanced 5 mile walk). At 319 lbs the one mile kicked my butt. I am now up to an advance, super-fast-paced 3 mile and planning to brave the 5 mile soon. I'll still do these when I'm not able to work the gym into my schedule.

Highest weight: 335 lbs, BMI 50.9
Pre-op weight: 319 lbs, BMI 48.5
Current range: 140-144, BMI 21.3 - 22

175+ lbs lost, maintaining since February 2012
