I don't believe it...

Do you all have those moments where you don't believe something for a split-second, because it's so different than the last 10 or 20 years of your life?

On Friday, I looked into a mirror and the first neurons that fired in my addled brain was "who is that" because the image was so thin in comparison to my memories....

Just now, I looked at my profile page here on OH and it listed my BMI as "28.0" and my first thought was "that must be some sort of bug or mistake".  Then I realized it's accurate.

Funny, funny!

I have those moments as well.  I caught a glimpse of myself on a security camera in a store a couple of weeks ago, and for a second, didn't realize it was me.  I still have quite a way to go, but am feeling like I "blend" better, if that makes sense.  I am on the cusp of "normal" sizes, close to fitting XL's instead of plus sizes. I have been wearing plus sizes for so long, that it's almost impossible to remember a time when I could shop in regular stores.  I've hit a weight that is only about 10 lbs. more than when I got married 22 yrs. ago.  I certainly wasn't a thin bride, but looking at pictures of our honeymoon, I thought I looked pretty cute in some of them!  LOL

Today at KMart, yes I'm cheap, I took some 3 and 4x t shirts in the dressing room. I put one on and it was a little big, the way I like my shirts. So I thought I'd try the 3x for s & g's. I reached for the other shirt and it was the 4x. I had the 3x on. I bought two.

I still have those moments almost every day.  Just today I glanced at a mirror on a wall and did not recognize myself for a moment.  My first thought was, " those pants look really good on her".  The next thought was, "Oh my g-d, that's me!"  My brain has just not fully processed this change.

Funny, isn't it?  Each time it happens, I count it as a win.

 That is so wonderful!!

l just had my own private fashion show - l couldn't pick which shirt to wear - l have soooo many (complete with sales's tags still attached) shirts that have been waiting for the day when l lost 'those few more lbs'... now l'm scrambling to wear them before they don't fit!  How awesome is that?!

l also keep catching myself - l look at my arms or legs, and can't believe they're mine.  l can't wait for the mirror moment that you had!!!
