Think of it this way, if you had to spend a large sum of money for every one who asked you for money, but could get half of them to give up by telling them no, would you? Insurance is a business that is there to make money(or stay afloat with as much money as possible for the (lol) non profits). They will take any opportunity to discourage you and tell you no that they are given. That is why the appeal process is there. Follow it and if you meet the conditions of your policy, eventually it will be overturned. Don't give up.

I was scheduled for surgery in early 2010. About a month before surgery day, I found out that the company I work for has a restriction on our insurance policy because they see it as "cosmetic."
I've spent the last two years fighting with the powers that be. At the end of last year, I was told it was never going to happen.
I didn't give up. I found out a few weeks ago that the exclusion has been lifted and they will now allow it.
Point being, DON'T GIVE UP! Appeal, have your doctor write letters, do whatever you have to!

Definetly appeal!..... Also what insurance company do you have?.... Where in Ohio are you?... Good luck, keep fighting!
Oh, you poor thing. Several of us on this board have been denied repeatedly. Most of us prevailed eventually. DON"T GIVE UP! Have a good cry, take a deep breath, and hang in there. See my blog for the info I used for my appeals to Blue Cross Blue Shield Federal. I battled them for about a year, but finally got my approval.
