Pancakes & Waffels
I just got a catalog from Bariatric Choice and they have several pancakes and waffles that are protein enriched, so yes, you can! I think you'd have to wait until you were at a maintenance level and not eat them very often, but you could probably treat yourself once in a while. They are online and might be worth looking at. They also just sent me some free samples which I haven't tried yet.
Good luck!!

I don't really eat them anymore b/c I wouldn't have any room for protein after pancakes or waffles. However, I do help myself to a bite or two of my husband's if we are at a restaurant. That satisfies my desire for them. I'm not really tempted to eat the ones I make at home for my girls....unless they're Trader Joe's Pumpkin Pancake mix! Yum!!! I'll eat one without the syrup; they're soooooo good!
Even though they sound good and might taste good, I don't think I'd want them. Soft bread-like carby things sit in my sleeve like a big soggy sponge and make me feel icky.
My food likes and dislikes have quickly adapted to what feels good in my sleeve during and after eating. The things that feel the best are proteins, fruits and vegetables, so that's what I tend to like now.

I have evolved a good waffle recipe (adapted from a diabetic RNY post-op retired chef at my gym) that I used a lot pre-op as a carrier for berries and yogurt that I'm looking forward to working with again in maintenance mode. I did try a piece of that was left in the freezer a few weeks ago and it went down well. They're not terribly costly calorically in our sleeved quantities when added to some berries and yogurt (about 65 calories for a quarter of a round waffle) so that's quite workable once into the more flexible maintenance mode. It's not as high complex carb as I like to see for my pre-workout snacks but is pretty benign overall.
