hospital visit

well, i posted last night whether or not i should go to the hospital. i waited until this morning so my surgeon could see me.(needless to say i got NO sleep) he thought i may have pancreatitis or possible a gallstone stuck in my bile duct. so he did bloodwork on me to check my liver enzymes to see if they were elevated. he also did a CBC., he said everything came back PERFECT.so then he sent for me a CT scan with IV and oral contrast. the stuff i had to drink was distguisting and when they put the dye in me through IV i felt warm all over like i was gonna wet myself. it was no fun. but that test also came back perfect. he said my sleeve looked great. which is good news. but i still wanted to know what the heck was wrong with me. apparently i have gastroenteritis (stomach virus). it may feel worse for me than for a normal person cause my stomach is 1/4 the size, so the symptoms are twice as bad. i havent been able to eat anything since 5pm yesterday. im drinking gatorade for electrolytes and so i dont get dehydrated but i am lightheaded/dizzy which shows im probably slightly dehydrated already. nothing i can really do for a stomach virus but lots of sleep. im gonna take some liquid tylenol soon and lay down, hoping itll ease me off some. hope and pray none of you get this evil stomach virus!

 Well i am glad to hear that is not something more serious. It flu season and thats probably what you got! Get lots of rest! Hope you feel better.

thanks! me too. although this pain is just as bad!! i had the flu which went from my head to my chest. i guess now its in my stomach. thanks so much.

thanks weightless! im glad my sleeve looks good too. i always worry that ive stretched it out but the tests i had today showed that its right where its supposed to be! im greatful for that :-) thankyou!

Well that's good it's not serious.. it must have been frustrating at first having everything come back ok. But now you know for next time you may catch a bug what it feels like.

yea im thankful nothing serious is wrong. but like you said at the same time, i wish there was more of a reason why i felt this crappy LOL. i sure hope i dont catch many more bugs lol cause this is awful. thanks :-)
