Thanks, emdesq! I'm glad the stall is going to pass because today I am up another pound. Probably a good idea to not weigh myself every day for awhile....

Right now you are facing temptations that are out of the ordinary immediate post-op experience.  You should give yourself a ton of credit for making it through the biggest food holiday of the year with your plan intact.

I understand seeing all those foods you want to eat so bad.  Look at how far you've come though - before surgery would you have ever walked through BJ's without trying everything once twice or three times?  So yes, it was hard, but you are winning!

Before, you took enjoyment in eating lots of food.  There is a physical and emotional response to that which is very real, and like others have said, it is normal to mourn the loss of it.  I would try to find another activity to replace eating that can bring you joy and comfort during the holiday season.  It could be physical activity, like brisk walks outside on sunny winter days, or maybe taking lots of warm baths, or cozying up with a blanket and a good book, or whatever.

But it is a gradual process, and every day of eating "on plan" will mean that food has less power over you.  And drinking that coffee was an awesome choice in a difficult situation.  Keep up the good work!

Thank you, sunnymicki! I've noticed that I don't feel so frustrated all the time....and that I should work towards being more careful to never go so long without food that I might get extremely hungry or have a sugar low. That should help a lot.

I am knitting up a storm which tends to take my mind away from food - and Tuesay I'm going back to work, so that will help too.

Yeah, the coffee did help a lot. I'll remember that trick for the future!
