Couch potato to runner in 18 months!
I didn't gain or lose, but that's the point I am at in my weightloss cycle. I stay steady for 2 weeks, then lose for 2 weeks. My mother drove down for Thanksgiving, and rather than cooking and having a lot of food around the house we made reservations at a very nice restaurant and had their 'fine dining' buffet. Did I get my $35 worth of food? No, but it was delicious and my mother and husband really enjoyed a gourmet turkey day. I have so much restriction, still, it's hard for me to go very far off plan. I just have to 'choose wisely.' I had two lovely jumbo shrimp, one slice of turkey, a cube swiss cheese, a bite of cranberry sauce, a bite of stuffing, a bite of apple pie, and a bite of red velvet cake. I also had a glass of wine.
On Friday we went to the new Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete (very worthwhile, btw), and we had lunch at a tapas restaurant nearby. I had 2 meatballs (abondigas). I made chicken piccata for dinner that night. We had nosh in the house (cheese & crackers, etc), but I honestly don't have problems staying away from the carby stuff. I do have to be conscious of NOT grazing on the protein (love me some cheese). After mom left on Saturday, we drove down to Vero Beach so I could get my hair done (yes, I drive 2 1/2 hours to my stylist). We had lunch at Mulligan's on the water, and I had 1/2 of their 'bunless burger' which was served with steamed veggies. I had my two left-over meatballs from the Tapas restaurant for supper . Sunday was just a normal, very-much-on-plan-no-eating-out kind of day with a trip to the gym for me, long nap for my husband.
I'm not a sushi fan, lol. About as close as I get to it is seared ahi tuna provided it's sashimi grade :) There are tons of restaurants on the same street as Ceviche's. It's the main drag through down-town St. Pete, pretty much.
The Dali is wonderful. The new building by itself is worth seeing. Dali's work is not my cup of tea, per se, in terms of what I'd want to hang on my wall; however, it's beyond brilliant and really fascinating. We did the docent tour and then went back through the gallery. It was well worth while. The docent had been with the Dali (at the old museum) for 30 years. Ask your MIL to look for coupons in the paper. We got in for $19, my mom for $17 with coupons.
Since the Monday before T-giving, I've lost 3 lbs. I'll take it.
I definitely wasn't trying to "be good." My sleeve is very new and it told me when I was done.
I did almost blow chunks Friday night. I was trying to get a protein shake down - real quick (big mistake) and almost lost it.
Lesson learned.
