Time to be HONEST!

I didn't weigh for three or four days because I was away from my own scale, but this morning I was down about a pound. I ate whatever I wanted but kept my portions of everything very small. I think I was under 1000 calories Thanksgiving day even with pie.

Being totally honest.... I think I did very well. I stay under a 900 calories every day of the holiday break. I got in all my protein and water, however, with that said I did have a few small pieces of pumpkin pie on a few days... But I budgeted for them that morning and stayed under my calorie limit. So all in all, I did not need the pie, but I think I did OK.

Last Monday I was 252 and TOM was around for 4 days.......today I am 250.  I lost 2 lbs which has been about the norm for me (2-3lbs a week).  I enjoyed my holiday, can't resist mac & cheese.

I ate what I wanted for Thanksgiving, as I'd planned to do, just making sure I exercised at least 3 times that week.   Throughout that afternoon and evening I had mac n cheese, greens, turkey, ham, apple pie, greens, dressing, sweet potatoe pie....greens.  Weighed in the next morning and was down about .3 pounds. ( lots of greens = lots of toilet time.)  I allowed for Thanksgiving and wanted to make sure I fully enjoyed it, and returned to my regular program the next day. No guilt, no remorse.  Everyone took most of our desserts home with them.  My turkey day indulgence would've been a week long food debauchery before surgery.

I didn't gain or lose, but that's the point I am at in my weightloss cycle.  I stay steady for 2 weeks, then lose for 2 weeks.  My mother drove down for Thanksgiving, and rather than cooking and having a lot of food around the house we made reservations at  a very nice restaurant and had their 'fine dining'  buffet.  Did I get my $35 worth of food? No, but  it was delicious and my mother and husband really enjoyed a gourmet turkey day.  I have so much restriction, still, it's hard for me to go very far off plan.  I just have to 'choose wisely.'   I had two lovely jumbo shrimp, one slice of turkey, a cube swiss cheese, a bite of cranberry sauce, a bite of stuffing, a bite of apple pie, and a bite of red velvet cake.   I also had a glass of wine.

On Friday we went to the new Salvador Dali museum in St. Pete (very worthwhile, btw), and we had lunch at a tapas restaurant nearby.  I had 2 meatballs (abondigas).  I made chicken piccata for dinner that night.  We had nosh in the house (cheese & crackers, etc), but I honestly don't have problems staying away from the carby stuff. I do have to be conscious of  NOT grazing on the protein (love me some cheese).   After mom left on Saturday, we drove down to Vero Beach so I could get my hair done (yes, I drive 2 1/2 hours to my stylist). We had lunch at Mulligan's on the water, and I had 1/2 of their 'bunless burger' which was served with steamed veggies.   I had my two left-over meatballs from the Tapas restaurant for supper .  Sunday was just a normal, very-much-on-plan-no-eating-out kind of day with a trip to the gym for me, long nap for my husband.

What was the name of that tapas place? We may be visiting my MIL near St. Pete and the Dali museum is on the list to see, missed it last time.. BTW, if you are a sushi fan, years ago (hopefully still there and good) there was a place called Blue Fugu, very tasty..

The restaurant is called "Ceviche's Tapas Bar & Restaurant" and it's on the ground floor of the Ponce De Leon hotel  about 1/3 of a mile from the Dali.  The restaurant and bar open out to the street with outdoor seating, etc.   You could easily walk there from the Dali  -- just go down along the waterfront past progress energy park and the St. Pete Yacht Club.

I'm not a sushi fan, lol. About as close as I get to it is seared ahi tuna provided it's sashimi grade :) There are tons of restaurants on the same street as Ceviche's.  It's the main drag through down-town St. Pete, pretty much.

The Dali is wonderful. The new building by itself is worth seeing.  Dali's work is not my cup of tea, per se, in terms of what I'd want to hang on my wall; however, it's beyond brilliant and really fascinating.  We did the docent tour and then went back through the gallery.  It was well worth while. The docent had been with the Dali (at the old museum) for 30 years.  Ask your MIL to look for coupons in the paper. We got in for $19, my mom for $17 with coupons.

Well I didnt gain but I ate potatoes which I havent been eating, so had those two days in a row, I hate 3 pieces of pumpkin pie and got sick so I told my dad he needed to get rid of it, pumpkin pie is my weakness!! I did a lot of moving around and chopping wood and stuff this weekend (was visiting my dad at his cabin in Wisconsin for the weekend)so luckily for me I wasnt sitting around the house but I think I did pretty good with all the left overs, oh and I ended up eating 4 dinner rolls in one day, not good either since I havent been eating bread....but they were so good with real butter on them!! I am happy I didnt gain, my stomach is still small so I reach full very fast!!

I just ate. Tried to get protein first. Had a little (because I was so full I couldn't handle much) of a chocolate silk pie. Had 1/4 of a roll. Had some gravy.

Since the Monday before T-giving, I've lost 3 lbs. I'll take it.

I definitely wasn't trying to "be good." My sleeve is very new and it told me when I was done.

I did almost blow chunks Friday night. I was trying to get a protein shake down - real quick (big mistake) and almost lost it.

Lesson learned.
