stuck in a rut.
I've noticed that I tend to get on a food kick and stick with it for awhile. For example, the past 3 weeks i have been obsessed with cheese and hummus. Most of my meals consist of that. Yes, I occasionally will throw in some chicken, beans and sausage, but I need more ideas! What is everyone eating at 9 weeks out?! I've also noticed I"m so full by the time I get my 2 oz. in there's not much room for veggies or anything else. Is this a problem?
Also, I feel like I have a sleeve of steel. I'm able to tolerate pretty much anything and everything (the only thing that didn't settle well was tuna and that was at 3 weeks out - just haven't tried it again yet). Am I lucky or is this normal?

I tend to get on food kicks, too. Then I get tired of that and switch to something else. I was worried that I was not able to get in all the veggies, etc that I needed too. I asked the doc and he said not to worry about it as long as I am getting in the protein and taking the vitamins to avoid any defiecencies. So far it is working. My labs were perfect and I do not eat a balanced diet. So far the only thing I can't handle is anything greasy, which I didn't do well with before surgery, so kind of expected. I could eat tuna very early on, but I made it into a kind of paste with the blender. Haven't eaten any lately, though. Good luck and keep rockin' that sleeve!
I'm a month farther out than you. I think sometimes it takes us so long to eat up whatever we've bought that we just eat it over and over until it's gone, then move on to something else. I like frozen precooked shrimp. Just thrown them in a container and let them thaw, then eat. Tons of protein and very handy.
I am just now starting to think about how to add in some veggies and so on. Need to make an appt. with the NUT to get some advice.

I do the food kick thing, too. I agree that it's because it takes so dang long to finish things that I eat it over and over until it's gone or I absolutely can't stand it anymore.
I tend to eat my veggies with my protein -- my NUT suggests 3 bites of protein and then 1 bite of fruit/veggies, and that works really well for me.
I like to eat half of a turkey burger patty with mushrooms and swiss on top for lunch and/or dinner. I love Tastee Bites Madras lentils from Costco with cheese and sour cream or greek yogurt on top. I am currently on a steak bowl from Chipotle kick. One bowl lasts 3 meals for me and is packed with protein. I bought some chipotle chicken skewers from Trader Joes that are awesome with a veggie side. Turkey chili has become one of my stand-bys as well. I make taco lettuce wraps with butter lettuce and then take taco meat to work with me and get a little lettuce, tomatoes, olives and cheese off the salad bar to make a taco salad.
I have a sleeve of steel, too -- the only thing that has really made me miserable was too-dry chicken breast eaten by itself. I find that fruits and veggies help me tolerate dense meats better because they add some moisture and soft texture to the meal.
I do try to eat a variety of things as much as possible because that increases the nutrients one takes in. I stick mostly to meats, cheese, fruits and veggies with a complex carb thrown in on a rare occasion.
