Gallbladder removal today - advise needed to sleevers w/o gallbladder
I never had the bathroom issues after having my GB removed at 8 months post-VSG. I did however have to eliminate full fat foods such as peanut butter, nuts, avocados, full fat dressings (no oil and vinegar dressing or Italian) etc etc because I would get those sharp, shooting pains that I had when I would have GB attacks. It only lasted about 4 months then I was able to add those foods back in. Spicy foods chili, mexican foods, and super spicy Thai food never gave me any issues. I never used protein drinks so I can't comment there. I developed lactose intolerance to an extent and haven't drank milk since being sleeved 2.5 years ago, but I had zero issue eating cheeses and yogurts after my GB was removed. Meats were never an issue either. I even ate duck (it's a pretty fatty meat option) without issue post-GB removal. The one weird thing I could not eat for about 6-8 months post-VSG removal was red pasta/marinara sauce. I would get severe abdominal pain with referred shoulder pain(that pain that shoots up to the collarbone area) for hours after eating red pasta sauce. Due to having to eliminate full fat foods, I did lose more weight after my GB removal even though I was already below as well.

Thanks everyone - my Gallbladder is gone! Went into surgery at 7:30 out by 8:45 and headed home by 12:30 - quite amazing if you thing about it. Currently on liquid diet (soups) for today and tomorrow.
Dr said low fat meals (less than 3 gram fat per meal) once I start solids again.... that will be a drastic change to my normal VSG diet - but will stick to it to avoid issues. Pain is not bad and I already feel relief from that painfull gallbladder and the bloaty pain it caused me.
I greatly appreciate everyones posts and sharing of experiences - I know what to watch for and what medication to ask for if I do have continued bowel problems.... no problem thus far but its been less than 24 hours and I have not gone.
Thanks again and have a wonderful day!
