Bariatric vitamins versus centrum
Wow, I was shocked at the price of paying for the recommended vitamins today at the appointment that educates you on how to eat. 1 bottle multivitimin, 1 bottle calcium chew, and 1 bottle iron and it set me back $85. I don't mind paying that if it truly is a difference in quality, but I wonder if the mentioned brand of Centrum works just as well for a fraction of the cost.

Bought the bariatric vitamins (Celebrate) and they make me so nauseous that I cant take them - big waste of $. I did get the Calcet chews which are great but very expensive, but I can swallow the Ca Citrate petites now. I use Centrum chewable - take 2 if you want a higher dose. I wish I had not spent so much $$$ on specialty vitamins.

Drugstore.com carries the Centrum chewable.
I take the Centrum, chewable calcium+D (but I like to one of those and one soft chew like a Viactiv or generic equivalent -- it's like candy that's good for you). I also take other supplements (B12, B complex, biotin, inositol, gelatin). I get what's on sale. My labs are great.
The Centrum and Celebrate multis have roughly the same vitamins. What is misleading though is that the Celebrate calculates their serving on multiple pills (i.e. 3 pills a day) and the Centrum is only one tablet. Of course, you could just take another Centrum or two and get the same thing. I take just the one Centrum a day and again, my labs are great.

The Centrum Adult Chewable (not gummy) is more than adequate and is actually recommended by several top surgeons. It's not the best tasting......has sort of a chalky orange taste...but its not horrible. I got my last bottle (100 tablets - good for 50 days since you usually need 2 per day) for $18.00 on Amazon.com.
It has iron in it as well.....so no need to supplement that further. Get a calcium (make sure its citrate...not carbonate) and you will be good to go.
