Bariatric vitamins versus centrum
Ya know I have heard that before.....but I have yet to see any verified research that shows that to be the case. If you have a link to the research you are quoting above I would love to read it. A quick Google search does show "claims" that its not absorbed well.....but those claims are all on "Natural Health" type websites that are trying to sell you "their" brand of vitamins and supplements.
I've been taking mine since February w/ food (2 per day) and my lab work (done in Jan and again in August) showed a marked improvement.
Too each their own - everyone has to find something that works for them without busting their wallet right?

I hate to burst your bubble but that book is not much more than advertising for the company Lyle worked for - USANA Health Sciences, Inc. The author was on the board of directors for that supplement company when he wrote the book.
Hmmm....wonder what supplement ended up being rated #1 by him in his supposedly "unbiased" book. You guessed it.....USANA's supplements. It is in his financial best interest to trash any other supplement on the market. It's all part of a giant MLM business model.
Anyways - believe what you want. I'm not saying Centrum is perfect - but I still have yet to see any scientific PROOF that it is not absorbed well by the body. I may be switching to Celebrate vitamins though....only because I am getting tired of the orange chalk taste and I found them cheap!

First, you're not "bursting my bubble" I was just passing on information from my NUT. Second, USANA's supplements were not the only ones to be rated #1 in the book. Just by reading through the reviews the book sounds like a good read. Lastly, I'm not an idiot who takes all at face value. It's up to each individual to do research and choose their supplements wisely. Those who take gummy vits or Flintstones also say "my labs are great." Yeah, ok. ~Jennifer
I'm more than 2 years post-op and have regular blood work done. My labs have all been excellent.
Following are the vitamins I take daily,
2 Gummy Vites (multivitamin)
1 B12 Sublingual
2 Fiber Gummies (keeps me regular)
2 CoQ10
2 Fish Oil
I buy all my vitamins and supplements at Costco, they have excellent prices. I've never come close to paying $85 for vitamins.
Centrum works just as well as the more expensive vitamins you're buying. Review the labels and you're not going to see a lot of a difference.
If I'm going to take these vitamins for life I want something that works and is cost effective. The labs prove these vitamins keep me in good working order.
Good luck,
George
