Cute pic! I swear by chicken soup and vitamin D. Netty Pot too. are you coughing? If so, put Vicks vapor rub on your feet and wear socks. Will stop the coughing. Seen in work with my own 2 kids.

Feel better soon!

I've got my first post-op cold too, and it's a doozy.  I am taking the chemicals, for all the good it's doing me.  But I also agree with the last poster on the "Vick's on your feet" solution.  I used to do this with my son too when he was a baby.  It could be 100% psychosymatic, but it seems to work.  Feel better!!

You mentioned hydrogen peroxide in the ears...have you gargled with a peroxide/water mix? I know, sounds disgusting, and I won't lie, it's a very strange aftertaste. A coworker swears by it when she's got a scratchy throat. My surgery is this Wednesday, and a week ago I came down with a horrible head cold and sore throat. Gargled with a half/half peroxide/water mix 3x day for 2 days (in addition to the peroxide in the ears and Ocean Spray nasal mist up the nose). The sore throat was the first thing to get better, the ears next, and I'm finally almost fully uncongested (decongested?) - without any medication.

The peroxide also gives the nice side effect of some teeth whitening. (Hey, I'll take what I can get, there might be a cute doctor or male nurse on the floor post-op, and I'll need a bright dazzling smile to distract him from the lovely hospital gown!)

Feel better!

No problem - I always did the doctor's "warm sal****er" gargle but that never did anything except make me feel like I stayed in the ocean too long. A friend of mine swears by the peroxide gargling and it's been pretty effective for me. I work with kids so I've got some sort of sniffle almost 9 months a year...anything to keep from having to get 9 different antibiotics a year! Good luck, hope you feel better!

My Polish friends swear by this: take a beer or a couple of beers, put it in a pot and bring it to a quick boil. Let it cool down, just enough to tolerate and not burn...drink that.

I never had it myself. I like my beer cold.

Hope you feel better.
