Dec 5 surgery update - kinda long
I was whining and in so much pain when I got home from my 12/5 surgery and I vented on this forum. Thanks for your support! I went to my 10 day followup - down 14 pounds since surgery - pretty good considering all the fluids they pump into you at the hospital.
I received a great report at my 10-day followup and then on Friday, I noticed that my belly button was red under it and a little puffy. By midnight, I had stuff coming out of my navel and it really freaked me out... long story short - My body will not dissolve the dissolving stitches and my navel surgery incision was infected and oh so disgusting. Trip to the ER and they had to DIG the stitch out. Home now and on antibiotics. Have to change the packing twice a day and go back to the doc on Thursday for a followup, Wow... who knew???
I'm finally feeling well enough to walk and get food down. I now understand someone else's post, "Never trust a fart." LOL I'm doing better, now that the pain in my abdomen is resolved.
As of today, I am down 25 pounds since my 12/5 surgery date. FINALLY on the right side of the journey!!
